Clear estimates. Invoices that explain the work.
Turn an agreed service into a document your customer can understand. DetailSprout gives you reusable services, itemized quantities and prices, notes and document status in the same place as your clients.
Start with the services you already sell
Save service names, descriptions and prices in your catalog. Add them to an estimate or invoice, then adjust the line items for the specific job. You can also enter a custom service without adding it to the catalog.
Each document shows quantities, unit prices, subtotal, the tax rate you enter and the total. Add a clear title and notes so the customer can see what the amount covers.
Keep a proposal separate from a request for payment
Prepare an estimate while you are agreeing on scope and price. Track its status and convert it to an invoice when it is time to request payment.
Review an accepted estimate before changing its services, price or terms. A change to the agreement deserves another conversation with the customer, rather than a surprise on the final invoice.
Share a readable document
Use Print / PDF to create a copy you can share yourself. With email delivery configured, you can also send the document to the email saved on the client's record and keep replies directed to your account email.
Check the recipient, service descriptions and terms before sending. DetailSprout reports when its email provider accepts the message; inbox placement still depends on the receiving mail service.
Keep payment status tied to payment
Connect your business through Stripe's onboarding before creating card payment links. Payment availability depends on the connected business account being ready to accept payments.
A draft, a sent invoice and a paid invoice describe different stages. For payments collected outside Stripe, record the payment after you have confirmed receipt. A requested deposit is still unpaid until it is collected.
From a design estimate to the final invoice
- Select the client and add a website review at $180 plus three implementation hours at $90 each.
- Describe the deliverables and revisions in the notes. The subtotal is $450 before any applicable tax.
- Share the estimate and confirm the scope with the client before starting.
- Convert the agreed estimate to an invoice, check the due date and issue the document.
- Record the payment or review a reminder if the invoice remains outstanding.
A few useful answers
Can I reuse my service prices?
Yes. Save services in your catalog and add them to estimates and invoices. Review the quantity, price and description for each customer before issuing a document.
Can a customer pay an invoice online?
Card payment links are available after you complete Stripe onboarding and your connected business account is ready. Issuing an invoice alone does not collect payment.
Does DetailSprout choose the tax rate for me?
No. You enter the rate that applies to the work. The document calculates the tax from that rate. Your local accountant or tax adviser can help determine which rate and invoice details your business needs.
